Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role supports individuals by following their Individual Support Plans and encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. Work takes place in a variety of settings and may include outings to parks and sensory gardens while supporting social and communication skills. The position also assists individuals with daily hygiene and personal care and teaches daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry to promote independence. The schedule alternates weekly. Week 1: Sunday and Tuesday through Friday, 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Saturday, 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Compensation is up to $17.69 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or in a school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities, is preferred.
