Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. DSPs help individuals build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities. The role involves serving as a mentor, coach, and advocate while supporting personal goals and community engagement. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. The listed pay rate is $21.82 per hour, with an additional $2 available through the Enhanced Pay option. Available shifts are double weekends: Sunday 7:30 AM–11:30 PM, Friday 3:30 PM–11:30 PM, and Saturday 7:30 AM–11:30 PM.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support life-skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals build independence and develop social and communication skills.
- Support individuals in daily living activities, personal goals, and community engagement.
