Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals for its program in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and building independence. Following each individual’s Support Plan, staff encourage, mentor, and coach individuals in a variety of settings, including parks and sensory gardens, while supporting social and communication skills. The position also involves assistance with daily hygiene and personal care and teaching daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The listed pay rate is $18.75 per hour with election of the Enhanced Pay option. Available shifts are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in a home health aide setting or in a school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
