About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role helps individuals complete everyday living tasks, work toward their goals, and participate in their home and community. Support is provided in the individual’s home and community and may include daily living assistance, personal care, employment support, transportation, and scheduling. The position includes daily documentation and reporting in an electronic health system.

The posting lists part-time shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 7 PM to 7 AM or 7 AM to 7 PM, and a full-time shift Monday through Friday from 11 PM to 7 AM. Entry-level applicants are welcome, and on-the-job training is provided. Paid training includes CPR and first aid, Mindset, Medication Administration, Infectious Disease, and Seizure Management. Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Entry-level experience is accepted; on-the-job training is provided.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems or the ability to learn them.
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the individual’s home and community.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
• Support personal care, including bathing and dressing.
• Provide employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client’s schedule.
• Complete daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
