About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in their homes and communities. The role helps individuals complete everyday living tasks and work toward personal goals. The position is part-time in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a schedule of every other weekend from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and every other Monday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Compensation is $17.00 per hour. Entry-level applicants are welcome, and on-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems or the ability to learn technology.
• Reliable transportation, a driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and diaper changing.
• Provide employment support.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize clients’ schedules.
• Complete daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
