About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role helps individuals complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals, providing care in the individual’s home and community. The position involves assisting with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, personal care such as bathing and dressing, and employment support. The DSP may transport clients to appointments and run errands, help plan and organize schedules, and complete daily documentation and reporting in an electronic health system. Paid training is provided in CPR/first aid, Mindset, medication administration, infectious disease, and seizure management. Part-time schedules listed are 7 PM–7 AM Saturday and Sunday or 7 AM–7 PM Saturday and Sunday. The full-time schedule listed is 11 PM–7 AM Monday through Friday. The hourly rate is $15.00. Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
Proficiency with EHR systems or the ability to learn technology.
Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
Entry-level candidates are welcome; on-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

Provide care in the individual’s home and community.
Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
