About The Position

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), also called caregivers, support people with developmental disabilities and empower them to live as independently as possible. In this position, you will help residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities; accompany individuals on errands; participate with them in community occasions and recreational activities; and assist them in pursuing personal goals and desires. The schedule is Wednesday through Tuesday, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., on a 7-days-on/7-days-off rotation. The position is located in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active driver’s license in good standing and a good driving record.
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
• Must be willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course if not already completed.
• Must demonstrate patience, kindness, and a servant’s heart and hands.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

• Already having completed an Adult CPR and First Aid course.

Responsibilities

• Help residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities.
• Accompany individuals while they run errands.
• Attend community occasions and activities such as outdoor walks, games, and social events with individuals.
• Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires.
