About The Position

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), also referred to as caregivers, support individuals with developmental disabilities and help them live as independently as possible. The role is based in Maple Grove, Minnesota, with a schedule of Thursdays and every other Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. DSPs help residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities; accompany them on errands; attend community occasions and recreational activities; and assist them in achieving their personal goals and desires.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have an active driver’s license in good standing and a good driving record.
Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
Must be willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course; existing certification is beneficial.
Must demonstrate patience, kindness, and a servant’s heart and hands.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Help residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities.
Accompany individuals while running errands.
Attend community occasions and activities such as outdoor walks, games, and social events.
Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires.
