DSP-$1000 Hiring Bonus
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The role is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people and is part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. The listed pay is $16 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $16.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $1,000 hiring bonus is offered subject to eligibility requirements: working at least 40% FTE, keeping trainings up to date, maintaining employment in good standing, and working all scheduled shifts. Listed shifts are 10 a.m.–6 p.m., 4 p.m.–9 p.m., 2 p.m.–10 p.m., and 8 a.m.–4 p.m. every other Saturday/Sunday. Requirements
- A genuine interest in helping people with identified needs pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care.
- No prior experience or formal education is required; training and support are provided.
- Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Ability to pass a DHS background check.
Responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
- Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
- Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
- Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
- Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
