About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you’ll support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. This role is based in a residential group home setting supporting up to four people, on a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. Pay is $17.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $17.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $1,000 hiring bonus is offered to eligible employees who meet the stated requirements. No prior experience or formal education is required; training and support are provided. The role may suit caregivers and others interested in pursuing careers in social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, psychology, or nonprofits.
Requirements
- A genuine heart for helping others and a passion for supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
- Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and staying connected with the team.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Ability to pass a DHS background check.
Responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
- Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
- Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
- Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
- Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
