About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The role is based in a residential group home setting supporting up to four people and involves helping with daily living, community involvement, health and well-being, and independent living skills. You will complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings as part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. The position offers $16.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $16.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $1,500 hiring bonus is available to eligible team members. Twelve-hour shifts are available. No prior experience or formal education is required; training and support are provided.

Requirements

A genuine interest in helping people with identified needs pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.
To be eligible for the hiring bonus: work at least 40% FTE, remain up to date on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation.
Participate in training and team meetings.
