About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The role is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people and is part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. The position pays $16.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $16.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $1,500 hiring bonus is available to eligible employees who meet the stated requirements. Schedules listed include SS 8 a.m.–9 p.m., F 3:45–9 p.m., F 4–10 p.m.; and W 2–9 p.m., Th/F 4–8 p.m., S/S 10 a.m.–6 p.m., W 2–9 p.m., Th/F 4–8 p.m. No prior experience or formal education is required. LSS provides paid training during orientation and throughout employment. This role may suit caregivers, PCAs, homemakers, home care providers, resident assistants, or people interested in beginning careers in social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, psychology, or nonprofits.

Requirements

A genuine desire to help and support people with identified needs through person-centered care.
No prior experience or formal education is required.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
