About The Position

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.

The DSP provides hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance, and helps ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served. Duties also include housekeeping and laundry, as well as assistance with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Multiple shifts are available. The wage is $15.75 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license required due to transporting persons served.
• Must be comfortable driving to transport persons served as required.
• Some positions or locations may require a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.
• Person-centered, patient, and kind.

• Observant and detail oriented.
• Able to serve as a positive role model and work on a team.
• Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Successful background clearance required as part of onboarding/employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Support individuals’ comfort, safety, personal growth, dignity, and independence.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Transport persons served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and communicate with internal and external team members.
