About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide person-centered support to people with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The role focuses on empowering individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while upholding their dignity and respect.

The DSP provides hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, guidance, and positive direction. The role also includes supporting daily living activities, helping ensure the comfort and safety of the people served, and completing housekeeping and laundry duties. Multiple shifts are available, at a wage of $15.75 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license required; candidates must be comfortable driving to transport persons served as required.
• Some positions or locations may require a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.
• Person-centered, patient, and kind.
• Dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Observant and detail-oriented.
• Able to serve as a positive role model and work on a team.
• Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Reading, writing, and communication skills sufficient to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Successful background clearance required as part of onboarding/employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Promote individuals’ independence, comfort, dignity, safety, and personal growth.
• Assist with moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Transport persons served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
