About The Position

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The goal is to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. The position involves hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance; promoting comfort, safety, and personal growth; performing housekeeping and laundry; and assisting with daily living tasks, including moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Multiple shifts are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license required because the role involves transporting persons served.
• Must be comfortable driving to transport persons served as required.
• Some positions or locations may require a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.
• Person-centered, patient, and kind.
• Dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Observant and detail-oriented.
• Able to serve as a positive role model and work on a team.
• Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of individuals served.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Transport persons served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
