About The Position

LSS is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered support to people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals. The role is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people, with a collaborative team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. The pay rate is $17 per hour. After six months of consistent employment, team members may be eligible for a wage increase up to $17.50 per hour. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered to eligible hires who meet the stated requirements. No prior experience or formal education is required. LSS provides paid orientation and ongoing training. The position may suit caregivers, PCAs, homemakers, home care providers, resident assistants, or people interested in beginning a career in social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, psychology, or nonprofits.

Requirements

A genuine passion for helping people with identified needs pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care.
No prior experience or formal education required; training and support are provided.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.
To qualify for the hiring bonus, work at least 40% FTE.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
For hiring bonus eligibility, remain up to date on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.
