About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The role is based in a residential group home setting supporting up to four people and is part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. Pay is $17.50 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $18.00 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,000 hiring bonus is available to eligible employees who work at least 40% FTE, stay current on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts. No prior experience or formal education is required; LSS provides training and support. The position may suit caregivers, PCAs, homemakers, home care providers, resident assistants, or people interested in careers in social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, psychology, or nonprofits.

Requirements

A genuine passion for helping others and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
Valid driver's license and a safe driving record; ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.
For hiring bonus eligibility: work at least 40% FTE, remain up to date on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships by providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
