About The Position

New Avenues to Independence is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with disabilities in residential homes and day programs. DSPs provide person-centered assistance with daily living activities and personal care, support community participation, and help individuals build independence and self-determination. They foster an inclusive, nurturing environment, develop supportive relationships, and collaborate with a team to create and implement individualized care plans. Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities are available across multiple shifts. The ICF base pay is $17 per hour, with opportunities to earn up to $18 per hour based on driver's license status and Med Cert I.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a valid Ohio driver's license with four or fewer points.
Have valid auto insurance.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a desire to make a difference in people's lives.

Nice To Haves

Previous caregiving experience, such as personal care, home health, or similar work.
CPR and First Aid certification; training will be provided.
Med Cert I; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Provide person-centered care and support in residential homes and day programs.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, toileting, bathing, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, shopping, medication management, and medical appointments.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and self-determination.
Plan and participate in meaningful activities, outings, and events.
Promote social and emotional well-being by building supportive relationships.
Collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
Work with individuals to complete tasks and build independence.
