About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and care to individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. residential facilities. Individuals may need physical or medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support, or assistance with independent living. Care is tailored to each individual’s needs and may include assistance and education with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills. DSPs also transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments. Full-time positions are available on the second shift, 3:15 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., for 40 hours per week, with rotating nights including every other weekend. Backup/PRN fill-in positions are available for all three shifts. Full- and part-time residential DSP positions begin at $17.60 per hour; backup and PRN positions pay $17.00 per hour. Full-time employees, defined as scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, are offered a benefits package. Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited school.
Complete a criminal record check.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance for the assigned work schedule.
Work during inclement weather and some holidays.
Hold a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
Have basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and recording data.
Be able to lift 50 pounds.
Be able to balance, bend, stoop, and kneel occasionally, and remain on one's feet most of the time.

Complete required coursework for CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
