About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and care to individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. residential facilities. Residents may need physical or medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support, or assistance with independent living. Care is tailored to each individual's needs and includes support and education with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills. DSPs also transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments. Positions are available across first, second, and third shifts, as well as for backup and fill-in coverage. Full-time employees are scheduled for 30 or more hours per week. The position requires completing the online application and questionnaire; submitting a resume alone is not sufficient for consideration.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited school.
Prompt and regular attendance for the assigned work schedule.
Ability to work during inclement weather and some holidays.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Complete required coursework for CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
Basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and recording data.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel.
Ability to be on one's feet most of the time.
Criminal record check.

Responsibilities
