About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and care to individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. residential facilities. The role supports individuals with physical and medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support, and independent living needs. Care is provided according to each individual’s specific needs and includes assistance and education with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills. DSPs also transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments. Full-time and part-time residential DSP positions start at $17.60 per hour. Back-up and PRN positions are available to fill in across all three shifts and pay $17.00 per hour. Full-time employees are scheduled for 30 or more hours per week and are offered a benefits package. Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited school.
Criminal record check.
Prompt and regular attendance for the assigned work schedule.
Ability to work during inclement weather and some holidays.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and recording data.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to balance, bend, stoop, and kneel occasionally.
Ability to remain on one’s feet most of the time.

Responsibilities

Provide support and care to individuals in residential facilities according to their specific needs.
Assist and educate individuals with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills.
Support individuals with physical and medical care, behavioral needs, and cognitive needs.
Transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments.
Complete required CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management coursework.
Use basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and recording data.
