About The Position

InReach is seeking an independent contractor Direct Support Professional to support a female individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte, North Carolina area (28227). The role provides respite, community networking, and supported employment services for 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The position is paid at service-specific rates: $16.07 per hour for respite, $22.27 per hour for community networking, and $23.07 per hour for supported employment. The Direct Support Professional provides companionship, care, and support, assisting with home living, social roles and habits, community integration, medication, and transportation. This is an independent contractor position. Contractors receive a 1099 tax form and use a third-party contract management vendor for direct deposits. Contractors are responsible for fees associated with state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and the vendor’s administrative services.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of experience with the intellectual and/or developmental disabilities population is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction and assistance in home living environments.
Help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
Facilitate community integration.
Help the individual develop healthy social habits.
Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
Transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
Provide respite, community networking, and supported employment services.
