Direct Support Professional - Independent Contractor (CM)
About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional as an independent contractor to provide respite services for seven hours per week to a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area (28214). The schedule is flexible, and the pay rate is $16.07 per hour. The role involves providing companionship, care, and support to help the individual live at home and participate in the community. Independent contractors receive a 1099 tax form and use a third-party Contract Management vendor for direct deposits. Contractors are responsible for fees for state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and the vendor’s administrative fees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) population.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help the individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
- Transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
