About The Position

Mosaic is seeking a temporary Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support people as they learn and develop daily living skills and participate in life activities, helping them live as independently as possible. The role includes assisting people in identifying and achieving their personal goals, monitoring their comfort and safety, and ensuring their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met. DSPs also provide emotional support and assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.

This is a temporary assignment with a maximum 120-day timeframe and possible conversion options. The wage is $25. The position has a 40-hour weekly maximum and is not eligible for overtime. Temporary employees are ineligible for benefits, PTO, sign-on bonuses, and referral incentives. No experience is needed; thorough training is provided.

Requirements

• A desire to make a positive difference in people's lives; no prior experience is needed, and training is provided.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid U.S. driver's license where applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and communicate honestly about timelines, challenges, and questions.
• Work requires frequent physical activity, including extended periods of standing, walking, and bending, with occasional sitting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crouching, squatting, and balancing.
• Work requires constant reaching between knee and shoulder level, frequent reaching below knee level and overhead, occasional independent lifting up to 25 pounds, frequent pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds of force, and the ability to safely transfer 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist people with developing daily living skills and participating in life activities by creating an environment for learning, growth, and discovery.
• Help people identify and achieve the goals most important to them.
• Monitor the comfort and safety of people served and ensure their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
• Provide emotional support.
• Assist with general housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry duties.
