About The Position

BAYADA is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role helps individuals build confidence, gain independence, and work toward personal goals while fostering meaningful connections and companionship. Positions are available in Asheville, Candler, Black Mountain, and Leicester, North Carolina. The posting offers pay up to $18 per hour, flexible part-time schedules, multiple shifts, and work close to home. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered for Buncombe and McDowell counties, paid in full after successfully completing 100 hours of work.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; training may be available through an apprentice program for applicants without this experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive clients to appointments and activities.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals participate in community activities and social events.
• Provide encouragement, mentorship, and companionship.
• Support personal care needs, including dressing and grooming.
• Transport clients to appointments, errands, and community outings.
• Help individuals reach their goals and live as independently as possible.
