About The Position

ViaQuest Residential Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. The role focuses on helping individuals build independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety. Training is provided in its entirety, and prior experience is not required. Paid training includes CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration courses and certifications.

The position offers a range of schedules and is suitable for people beginning a healthcare career, gaining experience in the IDD field, or balancing work with classes. The posting advertises walk-in/open interviews every Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at ViaQuest's local office at 7695 Poe Ave., Dayton, OH 45414.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Motor vehicle record must meet requirements, including no OVI/DUI or reckless-operation violations, no speeding violations more than 20 MPH over the posted limit, no more than two moving violations in the last two years, and no more than five points.
• Reliable vehicle with active insurance.
• Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and assist individuals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while meeting health and safety needs.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
