About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is hiring part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the Cornelius and Huntersville, North Carolina areas. DSPs work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in home and community settings, serving as companions and mentors and helping clients reach their full potential. The role offers flexible scheduling across various shifts and locations, with efforts to match opportunities within 30 minutes of the employee’s home. Starting pay is $15 per hour, paid weekly. Training may be available through an apprentice program for applicants without the listed disability-support experience.

Requirements

• One or more years of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; training may be available through an apprentice program for applicants without this experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including dressing and grooming.
• Accompany clients on errands and appointments.
• Spend time with clients on their favorite hobbies and activities.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as meal preparation.
• Participate in community integration activities.
