About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking part-time Direct Support Professionals to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in home and community settings in the Cornelius and Huntersville, North Carolina areas. DSPs serve as companions and mentors, supporting clients in reaching their full potential. Scheduling is flexible, with weekday day and evening shifts and weekend opportunities. Day shifts are generally in the morning; evening shifts typically run from around 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. BAYADA aims to match opportunities within about 30 minutes of an employee’s home. Starting pay is $15 per hour, with weekly pay and possible mileage reimbursement. The organization describes a supportive team environment and provides around-the-clock clinical support.

Requirements

• One or more years of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; training may be available through the apprentice program for applicants without this experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including dressing and grooming.
• Accompany clients on errands and appointments.
• Spend time with clients participating in their favorite hobbies and activities.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as meal preparation.
• Participate in community integration activities.
