About The Position

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The goal is to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. The role includes hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance, and helping ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the people served. The position also involves housekeeping and laundry, as well as assisting with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.

Since 1976, it has provided person-centered support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, with services nationwide. Multiple shifts are available. The listed wage is $15.75 per hour, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be comfortable driving to transport persons served as required.
• Some positions or locations may require a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.

• Computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Help ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Transport persons served as required.
• Document care and follow support plans.
• Collaborate with internal and external team members.
