About The Position

The Upholsterer works in the Plant 2 Upholstery Plant in Lenoir, North Carolina. The role involves safely maneuvering furniture frames on a work platform and attaching cardboard, padding, and upholstery material to furniture rails to achieve the specified contour. The Upholsterer is responsible for repairing their own work, maintaining an orderly workstation, following workplace safety standards, and performing other duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on inside/outside upholstery experience.
Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across the business.
Demonstrated ability to use upholstery tools.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Safely maneuver furniture frames on a work platform.
Tack cardboard, padding, and upholstery material to the top, side, and bottom rails of outside arms, fitting and shaping materials to obtain the specified contour.
Fix own repairs.
Maintain a neat and orderly workstation.
Follow all workplace safety standards.
Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
