About The Position

Indera seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one, part-time support to a 37-year-old man in the Cazenovia, New York area. The role supports his self-advocacy, participation in enjoyable activities, development of independent-living skills, and communication. He enjoys meeting people, taking part in interactive activities, and spending more time in the community. The ideal candidate is creative, engaging, active, patient, open to exploring new activities and interests, and willing to travel to different community locations. The position is part-time, with additional hours potentially available supporting other people served by the agency. Work begins after 4 p.m. on weekdays unless scheduled on weekends; days are flexible based on the Direct Support Professional’s availability. Starting pay is $19.25 per hour and increases with years of relevant experience. The position is based in Cazenovia, New York.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills are required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule is required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
