About The Position

Indera is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one community support to an 18-year-old female in the Oneida, New York area. The role focuses on helping her participate in community activities, identify safety issues, and develop positive communication skills. She enjoys meeting new people, interactive activities, and spending more time in the community, including bowling, sports, and other physical activities.

The ideal candidate is creative, engaging, active, and patient, and is willing to travel to different community locations. The candidate will help her explore new activities and interests and feel more comfortable while out in the community. Services cannot begin before 3 p.m. because of school. Days and hours are open availability. Additional hours may be available supporting other people receiving services through the agency. Starting pay is $19.25 per hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills are required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule is required.
• Must have reliable transportation to arrive at the job site on time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Creativity, an engaging approach, activity, and patience are desired.
