About The Position

ViaQuest Residential Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide in-home support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on fostering individuals’ independence, choice, and empowerment while meeting their health and safety needs. Training is provided in its entirety, so prior experience is not required.

The posting advertises walk-in/open interviews every Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the local office at 7695 Poe Ave., Dayton, OH 45414. Applicants are asked to bring an Ohio driver’s license, I-9 employment eligibility documents, an auto insurance card, and a diploma for their highest level of education.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Meet motor vehicle record requirements, including no OVI/DUI, reckless operation, or speeding violations more than 20 MPH over the posted limit; no more than two moving violations in the last two years or more than five points.
• Reliable vehicle with active insurance.
• Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and assist individuals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring health and safety needs are met.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
