About The Position

Hands of Heartland is seeking compassionate and caring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)/Caregivers in Norfolk, Nebraska, to support people with developmental disabilities. The organization emphasizes putting each person before the program and helping people live meaningful lives. DSPs work directly with individuals in home and community settings, assisting with daily living activities and skill development. Full-time hours are available on day or evening shifts, with every other weekend required. PRN weekend work is also available. Day shifts are 7 a.m.–3 p.m.; evening shifts are 3 p.m.–11 p.m. Starting pay is $18 per hour, with higher pay for experience and CNA licensure. Incentives are available. CNAs may earn CEUs while working as a DSP.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass all background checks.
Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Must be willing to drive to neighboring communities.
Able to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Flexible and willing to adapt to change.
Communicate effectively and understand the importance of documentation.
Desire to support people and encourage them to reach their goals.
Demonstrate empathy, patience, understanding, compassion, adaptability, respectfulness, dependability, and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience is not required; training is provided.
CNA license is eligible for higher pay and the opportunity to earn CEUs while working as a DSP.
