About The Position
Out of the Box Solutions is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves supporting daily routines, community participation, personal goals, and safety in a respectful and empowering way. The position is serving a current client in Gresham and the surrounding area. The current client is a 13-year-old female in ZIP code 97080 who enjoys libraries and crafts, especially crochet. She is looking for a patient, understanding, enthusiastic, high-energy support person age 18 or older who can spend time building rapport, accompany her to the library, and possibly help with assignments. Her stated schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3:45–6:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of caregiving or related experience.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Smartphone required.
- Must successfully pass all state-required background checks and meet all ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Dependable, with a positive attitude and flexible mindset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently.
Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Help clients access the community and remain engaged.
- Follow care plans and support clients’ goals.
- Communicate with families and the team.
- Complete notes and documentation.
- Ensure clients’ safety and well-being at all times.
