Direct Support Professional Sherwood & Surrounding area

Out of the Box Solutions•Oregon City, OR

About The Position

Out of the Box Solutions is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role supports daily routines, community involvement, personal goals, safety, and well-being in a respectful, person-centered way that promotes independence and fulfillment. DSPs follow care plans, communicate with families and the team, and complete notes and documentation. Current client assignments include two 9-year-old male clients in the 97140 area. Both need support Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., plus some weekend hours. One client enjoys physical activity and time with his family dogs, which help reduce his stress and anxiety; support should emphasize communication, patience, redirection, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches, including declarative or low-demand language. The other client enjoys social interaction balanced with time to himself and is athletic; support includes establishing predictable routines, preparing him for new situations, and allowing time and space to calm down when frustrated. The employer describes the work as consistent, meaningful one-on-one support, with flexible scheduling and a supportive team. Pay is $24.00 per hour. Benefits and other offerings include health and dental insurance, a no-cost health plan for employees working 15 or more hours per week, life and accidental coverage, dependent virtual care options, a voluntary whole life insurance benefit, a time-off policy, next-day pay options, and paid training (subject to variation).
