Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for its programs in Sheridan, California. DSPs interact with and support individuals in a variety of settings, providing care that promotes each individual's health, safety, dignity, and contentment. They assist and train individuals in personal care, communication, and social skill development. The position pays $26.00 per hour. Merakey provides professional development training, support, and resources to help employees obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Upon certification, employees receive a $2.00-per-hour pay increase, to $28.00 per hour. Merakey provides access to training and support for employees to complete DSP 1, DSP 2, and RBT certifications within one year of hire.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a verifiable high school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- At least 6 months of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on behavioral services.
- DSP 1 and DSP 2 certifications must be completed within 12 months of hire.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification must be completed within 12 months of hire.
