About The Position

Alternative Services – Oregon, Inc. (ASI-OR) is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in day support and community inclusion programs. The role helps individuals build skills, explore interests, participate in community activities, and work toward personal goals in a respectful, person-centered environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position pays $21.00 per hour and includes paid hands-on training and ongoing coaching. Some individuals may have behavioral support needs; training, guidance, and support from experienced team members are provided.

Responsibilities

Support individuals during community outings, including visits to parks, libraries, shops, community centers, and local events.
Assist with recreational and social activities such as bowling, crafts, cooking groups, music activities, walking clubs, games, and community classes.
Support participation in volunteer opportunities and community events, and help individuals practice money skills, order food or drinks, use public spaces appropriately, and interact with others.
Help individuals build social, communication, safety, and daily living skills.
Encourage choice, independence, and participation in activities aligned with each person's interests and goals.
Provide positive behavior support using trained strategies.
Assist with personal care, mobility support, transportation, and documentation as needed.
Work with the team to maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging daytime program environment.
