Direct Support Professional Mentor
About The Position
Join Crest Services as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) House Mentor and use your experience to support individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and traumatic brain injuries while helping guide and mentor the next generation of DSP team members. Crest Services has been a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered care in welcoming group home settings throughout Minnesota for over 50 years. Our team is known for its supportive culture, meaningful work, and commitment to helping both residents and employees thrive. This role is for an experienced caregiver who enjoys supporting others, sharing knowledge, and helping create a positive team environment.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Minimum 3 years of experience providing direct care services to individuals with disabilities or older adults
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and detail-oriented
Responsibilities
- Train new employees assigned to the house and support successful onboarding
- Mentor new DSPs to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to company standards
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
- Provide compassionate support while encouraging independence
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment
- Observe and report changes in residents' health or behavior
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and fellow team members to provide quality, person-centered care
