About The Position

Crest Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Mentor to help individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and traumatic brain injuries live meaningful, independent lives. Crest Services is a faith-based nonprofit providing person-centered care in group home settings throughout Minnesota and Iowa. The role involves building relationships and supporting residents to live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible.

The position offers a starting wage of $19.00 per hour, flexible scheduling, paid training, and full-time opportunities. Shifts are 8–12 hours and include every other weekend. The organization works with employees’ schedules whenever possible. Employees also receive double-time pay for hours worked on company-recognized holidays and access to immediate wage payments. Previous healthcare experience is not required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

• Previous caregiving, healthcare, DSP, CNA, PCA, home health, or medical experience is preferred but not required; paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Provide compassionate support while encouraging residents’ independence.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ health or behavior.
• Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and fellow team members.
• Provide specialized care as needed, including wound care, bladder care, bowel care, and catheter care.
