About The Position

Merakey is hiring a Direct Support Professional in its Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Division in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, developing social and communication skills, and navigating daily living activities. The position includes helping with personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement, while serving as a mentor, coach, and advocate. No experience is required; paid training is provided.

Requirements

• A verifiable high school diploma or GED.
• A current and valid driver's license.
• Must be 18 or older.

• Related experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
• Provide community support and transportation.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
• Help individuals build independence and develop social and communication skills.
• Support participation in daily living activities and community engagement.
