About The Position

A Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) caregiver is responsible for providing clerical and technical support in maintaining health services delivery to individuals as well as providing direct care. The DSP Float provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Work assignments may be during any scheduled hours and at any sites where Dungarvin provides services. This role offers cross-training in multiple programs, personal fulfillment, a meaningful career, the chance to make a difference, and the opportunity to gain healthcare experience.

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age.
High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
At least 2 years of prior experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Person-centered, patient, and kind.
Dependable, adaptable, flexible.
Observant and detail oriented.
Positive role-model for others and able to work on a team.
Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
Computer skills for documentation.
Valid Drivers License (due to transporting persons served).
Good communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal) for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.
Successful background clearance.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
Schedule appointments and outings for individuals, coordinate and provide transportation for individuals to and from the community.
Establish and maintain individual’s medical records, both active and inactive, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Provide clerical and technical support in maintaining health services delivery.
Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities.
