About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support Professional / Caregiver in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and surrounding areas. The role provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. The goal is to empower the people supported to live as independently and comfortably as possible while preserving their dignity and respect.

This part-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and pays $15.75 per hour. No prior experience is required if the candidate meets the basic job requirements; paid training and hands-on experience are provided. The role offers meaningful work, a reliable schedule, varied daily experiences, and opportunities to gain healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to individuals served.
• Promote the comfort, safety, and personal growth of individuals served.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Document care and follow support plans.
• Collaborate with internal and external team members.
