About The Position

Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional / Caregiver in Elizabeth City, NC, and surrounding areas. The role provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to people with mental, intellectual and developmental, or physical disabilities. The goal is to empower the people served to live as independently and comfortably as possible while preserving their dignity and respect.

This part-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and pays $15.75 per hour. Paid training and hands-on experience are provided. The role offers meaningful work, a reliable schedule, varied day-to-day experiences, and opportunities to gain healthcare experience. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license because the role involves transporting people served.
• Complete a successful background clearance as part of onboarding and employment.
• Have reading, writing, and communication skills sufficient to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Have computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Support the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Document care and follow support plans.
• Collaborate with internal and external team members.
• Transport people served when required.
