About The Position
The Supported Living Group (SLG) provides non-medical, community-based, person-centered support services throughout Connecticut. Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with disabilities in building independence and personal growth. Duties include helping with household chores and tasks, driving individuals to appointments, assisting with personal hygiene, and developing routines that promote independence and self-sufficiency. The role also involves teaching essential life skills, such as grocery shopping and budgeting, to help individuals navigate everyday life. The schedule listed is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position is available full-time or part-time. Full-time employees are offered benefits.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving ability and flexibility.
- Commitment to the health and well-being of others.
- High school education or GED.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, insurance, and vehicle registration.
- At least 18 years old.
- Personal cell phone.
