Direct Support Professionals
About The Position
The Supported Living Group (SLG) provides non-medical, community-based, person-centered support services throughout Connecticut. Direct Support Professionals support individuals with disabilities in developing independence and achieving personal goals. The role includes helping with household tasks, driving to appointments, assisting with personal hygiene, establishing routines, and teaching practical life skills such as grocery shopping and budgeting. This posting is for support of a male participant on Sundays from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The role is offered as full-time or part-time; the benefits described are for full-time employees.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills and flexibility.
- Commitment to the health and well-being of others.
- High school education or GED.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, insurance, and vehicle registration.
- At least 18 years old.
- A personal cell phone.

Responsibilities
- Assist with household chores and tasks.
