About The Position
Part-time Direct Care Techs provide hands-on, person-centered support to people with disabilities in home and community settings in Johnson County. The role helps individuals live with dignity, independence, and connection by supporting daily routines, personal care, community participation, and personal goals. Training will be provided as required for the role. Openings are mainly on weekends, with some weekday evening shifts and evening and night shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid/current driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Kind, patient, and respectful approach.
- Reliable and able to show up for others.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Comfortable helping with personal care needs.
- Calm under pressure and willing to learn.
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiving or direct support experience; training is provided for those new to the field.
Responsibilities
- Support daily living needs, including meals, grooming, mobility, and personal care.
- Help individuals participate in community activities, attend appointments, and follow everyday routines.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and progress toward personal goals.
- Observe and report changes in health, safety, or behavior.
- Follow care plans, documentation steps, and safety practices.
