About The Position

Lifesteps, a local human service agency, is hiring compassionate and caring Direct Care Aides to work with adults with disabilities in a residential home setting in Butler, Pennsylvania. Direct Care Aides assist individuals with activities of daily living and home care, supporting them with tasks such as dressing, meal preparation, bathing, and transportation to doctor appointments. No experience is necessary, and paid training is provided. Experienced home health aides, nurse’s aides, support assistants, and direct support professionals are welcome.

The position offers full-time hours, with daytime shifts of 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. Part-time hours are also available with flexible scheduling. Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a home health aide, nurse’s aide, support assistant, or direct support professional is welcomed, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve meals.
• Clean the house.
• Shop for groceries and supplies.
• Assist with personal care, including grooming and bathing.
• Administer medication.
• Assist individuals with attaining personal goals.
• Support community outings and recreational activities.
• Assist adults with disabilities with activities of daily living, including dressing, meal preparation, bathing, and transportation to doctor appointments.
