DINING SERVICES MANAGER - CHARTWELLS K-12 FOOD SERVICE

About The Position
As a Dining Services Manager, you will manage a team of food service professionals and be responsible for the overall service of multiple sites in a K-12 school food service program. You will also assist with maintaining interdepartmental relations and integrating the dining service department plan of operations. The role oversees dining services at a medium to large volume location and is primarily involved in meal services in a seated dining room setting.
Requirements
- 2 years of food service management experience.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
- Knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet.
Nice To Haves
- Waited-table and catering experience.
- ServSafe Certification.
- Associate’s degree.
Responsibilities
- Oversee dining services operations of a medium to large volume location.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Assist with profit and loss and budgeting for the account.
- Work with the Chef and management team to create menus and provide top-quality food.
- Assist with food service-related activities, including quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and facility-related activities.
- Assist with rolling out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team.
- Assist with preparing quarterly reports for client presentations.
- Work with marketing and culinary departments to increase sales through innovation and food quality.
- Communicate with the culinary department to ensure food programs reflect the company's vision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
