About The Position

The Dining Services Aide provides a pleasant meal experience for residents in an assisted living and memory care community by serving food and beverages, preparing the dining room for meals, and cleaning dining services areas after meals. The role involves customer service for senior residents and their families, following community dining-services policies and procedures, and completing required safety and training activities. The posted schedule is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., includes alternating weekends, and may include some holidays.

Requirements

Customer-service knowledge, including assessing customer needs and meeting service quality standards.
Ability to give residents full attention, understand what they are saying, ask questions as appropriate, and avoid interrupting.
Understanding of proper table settings for each meal.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, alternating weekends, and some holidays.
Experience of 0 to 3 months in hospitality, fast food, or a related field; the posting also states that no experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

Maintain consistent and predictable attendance.
Support and follow the policies, procedures, and provisions of the community’s dining services programs.
Confirm residents’ menu selections and serve plated food.
Keep beverages at appropriate levels throughout meals.
Clean dining rooms and service areas after each meal and store equipment.
Clean kitchen equipment, appliances, floors, food storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and sinks according to schedule.
Stack, soak, and run the dishwasher, then put clean dishes, pots, pans, and other items in their appropriate storage places.
Become familiar with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for cleaning supplies and attend required training.
Complete Relias training as scheduled.
If under 18, do not clean or put away kitchen knives.
